Automatic

Once the initial setup has been done (it only takes 10-15 minutes) and the first backup has started, there is typically no human intervention required because the service is essentially a hands-free operation. Every night your scheduled backups begin at the times you have selected. Never again will you have to depend on (or pay) your employees (or yourself) to remember to manually perform a backup and thenphysically take it offsite every night.

Fast

After your initial backup, we transmit only Delta Block level (vs. file level) incrementals, so daily backups are extremely fast. Depending on your broadband speeds, it normally takes only a few minutes each day to complete.

The service even works with those having only a 56K or slower modem!

Secure

We use 128-Bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and 112-Bit Triple DES encryption with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to ensure that your data issecure from any unwanted access. Your data is transmitted and stored in encrypted format, so no one can access your data without your personalized encryption key. We use HP Servers and EMC storage machines at two mirrored facilities that are protected by a level of security that is extremely hard to match.

In addition to automatically backing up your mission critical data offsite every night, Remote Data Backups offers many additional features that can save you both time and money, enabling you and your employees to be much more productive throughout the day. Not only do we back up your data offsite every night, but we also give the end-users greater access to their data with our many advanced functions.

Standard Features

The following standard features are included in all our packages:

Remote Web Access

You will be able to remotely access your data 24/7 from any computer with Internet access. With just your account number and encryption phrase, you can simply log onto our website and have access to your data with just a few clicks of the mouse. This feature works great if you are frequently on the road or if you want to access your office data from home. You can also use this feature to simply transfer large files from one computer to another (a process that can be difficult without a CD-R burner and/or if the file is too large to email). However, Remote Access can be de-activated upon your request at any time.

Account Sharing

You can easily share data between multiple computers running Remote Data Backups. You can choose to share either individual directories or entire drives with another computer running Remote Data Backups. This will then allow you to have 24/7 access to the shared data on that account. This gives you the ability to access the data from all of your remote locations, franchisees, mobile sales force, etc., at will. You can also easily transfer files back and forth between your home, office and laptop computers. This feature can be an enormous time saver because you won't have to burn CD-R's to transfer files that are too large to email.

10-File Versioning

You will always be able to "go back in time" to the last 10 versions of any file on your computer for up to 90 days (whichever occurs first). Whether you accidently changed a file, a file became corrupted, or you wanted to uncover a sabotage situation, with just a few clicks of a mouse you can actually restore a file to exactly as it was saved on a prior date. You can restore previous proposals, presentations, accounting files, graphic files, etc., without the end user having to ask an IT person to take the time to find and pull tapes. There are countless instances where this feature can be an incredible time saver for both the end-user, and most importantly, your IT people. Restores are simple and can be quickly performed by the endusers themselves (We are also available to give you 24/7 support free of charge).

Extended Archiving

We will archive any data that has been deleted off of your system for an additional 90-days at our data centers. Consider it your hidden 90-day "extended recycle bin". Whether files are accidently deleted by you, or purposely deleted by a disgruntled employee, you will always be able to restore them for an additinoal 90 days (just in case you didn't notice that they were gone). Never underestimate the power of disgruntled employees because they can literally bring acompany to its knees simply by deleting its mission critical data and the known backups.

Windows Heal Included in our 10 GB Business Suite

This function is an invaluable tool to protect both your data and the PC it resides on. With Windows Heal, we not only back up every single file on your hard drive (up to 10 GB), but we also back up every single registry setting within the Windows operating system itself. Then, if your operating system ever becomes corrupt (which can happen at any time) or if your hard drive crashes, you can simply "roll back the clock of time" and restore your system to its last known "good state"... a significant time and money saver if needed!

With just a few clicks of the mouse, your computer can look exactly the way it did before it corrupted, crashed, or became lost. Essentially, what we are doing is mirroring your entire hard drive to our data centers every night. Ensuring that your mission critical systems are up and running properly during business hours is just as important as having your data backed up. Getting your computer back to the way it was before it corrupted or crashed can sometimes be an all-day and costly affair. If we can prevent you from having to perform a Windows re-install, or from having to start from scratch just once, then we will have saved you countless hours and dollars in both IT costs and downtime.

Roll back just your operating system

Our Windows Heal function gives you the ability to easily roll back just your operating system (up to 90 days) while leaving all of your data and application files untouched. This function can prevent you from having to start again from scratch should your operating system suddenly become corrupt due to a virus, configuration change, after a software/hardware install, etc.

Roll back your entire system

You can choose to roll back your entire system if one or more of your applications were to suddenly stop working properly. Not only can you roll back your entire system to any backup date within the previous 90 days, but you can also do it in a way that you will not lose any data created since that date. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can prevent spending multiple days reloading and configuring software should the unexpected happen.

Restore a crashed hard drive

"All hard drives are doomed to fail, it is only a question of when." With Windows Heal, you can easily make your replacement hard drive look exactly like your old drive without having to reload any of your applications. In fact, once you've established an Internet connection, you will not need to use any of your installation or application disks to make your entire system look exactly the way it did before it crashed.

Restore a lost computer

If your computer is lost or stolen, you can easily restore your entire hard drive to another computer as long as it has the same type of hardware and OS. Once an Internet connection is established, you will not need any of your installation disks to make it look exactly the way it did before being lost.
